14 minutes to Marquette, half an hour to Pictured Rocks.

The lodge stands on M-28 east of town: the harbor, the streets and Presque Isle one way, Munising and the painted cliffs the other.

Summer-road times from the M-28 stretch where the lodge stands. Add time in snow.

The town and its harbor.

Downtown Marquette is a short drive west along the shore: the harbor, its streets of shops, restaurants and breweries, and Northern Michigan University.

The lighthouse with its red lantern room stands on the point above the harbor. In summer the Marquette Maritime Museum runs guided tours of it; ask the museum for its times.

Presque Isle Park.

Marquette’s 323-acre wooded peninsula on Lake Superior, with a road and trails around its red rock shore.

Pictured Rocks and Munising.

The painted sandstone cliffs run for about 15 miles along Lake Superior’s shore east of Munising, with boats and kayaks beneath them, waterfalls and a road to Miners Castle.

Getting here.

By air

Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport (MQT) is the nearest. There are flights from Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis.

By car

Green Bay is about 3 hours away and Milwaukee about 4 hours 40. Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis are each a drive of 6 to 7 hours.

Once you are here

Bring a car: the lodge is on M-28, and Marquette is a short drive along it.

In winter

Clear all snow and ice off your vehicle before you set out, keep good tires and look at the forecast: conditions on M-28 change. For winter trips from the lodge, see snowmobiling.

On foot

From the lodge, the trails and the beach across the road are a short walk, and Lake Superior is there all year.

Come and stay, 14 minutes from town.

Choose your dates and the calendar gives the price of your whole stay. The lodge takes 2 nights at least, enough for a day in Marquette and a day at Pictured Rocks, and up to 2 dogs come too.

Tell us your dates and we will come back with availability and a price for the whole house.
