From the door, then a short drive.
The Iron Ore Heritage Trail and the North Country Trail cross the lodge’s land, and the Iron Ore trail is open to skis, so you can ski out from the door. Snowshoes need nothing but snow. For groomed trails, the Noquemanon Trail Network looks after 2 close by.

Morning
Coffee, then skis or snowshoes out from the lodge, onto the trails on the land.

Midday
The NTN South Trails are 15 to 18 minutes away and Forestville 25 to 32. Both are groomed by the Noquemanon Trail Network, whose Noquemanon Ski Marathon runs each January.
-
Afternoon
Downhill is at Marquette Mountain, 14 to 17 minutes away.
-
Evening
Back at the lodge, the sauna. Then the great room, and supper in a kitchen set up for 10.

The sauna to come home to.
The lodge has its own sauna, indoors, so there is no walk through the snow in a towel.
What else winter brings.
A frozen waterfall, a sled dog race through town and, on the coldest mornings, sea smoke on the lake.

-
The UP200
The UP200 sled dog race runs through downtown Marquette, February 11 to 15, 2027.
-
Sea smoke
When very cold air crosses the open lake, steam rises off the water, most often in December and January and on the coldest mornings.
Your winter dates.
Choose your dates and the calendar gives the price of your whole stay. The lodge takes 2 nights at least, enough for a long winter weekend, and up to 2 dogs come too.
